NWDRA DRAG RACE POINTS

2011

1.       Race season is continuous.  Points cut off to be determined by the club according to the time line needed to prepare for the award banquet.

2.       Attendance at a minimum of 4 meetings per year is required to participate in the Drag Race points series.

3.       Best 20 races at any track.

4.       All points must be turned in by phone, meeting, mail or email to nwdrapoints@comcast.net. All points must be turned in within 30 days of the event.  All drag race points must be turned in no later than 4 days after the last NHRA National Event.

5.       Tie breaker for each place; add next best race until the tie is broken.

6.       Payout will be for each club member who participates in the points series. Payout is determined by taking the dollar amount allotted and dividing by total points earned by all participating members.  This will give the dollar amount per point.  Individuals points X dollar amount per point will determine the individual payout amount.

7.       Free membership, plaques and/or trophies will go to the top 10 finishers.  Certificates will be given to places 11 and on.

8.       One point per round of eliminations, win or lose.  One extra point for a win in your class.

9.       Time slips or log book must be kept for all points turned in.

10.    Any member placing in the points series must have completed 4 hours of NWDRA service time in order to receive memberships, cash awards and prizes.  Any new member joining after the Swap Meet will have the 4 hour requirement waived.

*Effective 1/1/2012 the only qualifying event to work the 4 service hours at will be the Swap Meet*

11.    A King of the Track race will be treated as a separate race and points may be turned in for 2 races on that day.

12.    A club member who wins a Payday in the Park at PIR will be given an extra $20.00 if they have a NWDRA sticker displayed.

NWDRA PARTICIPATION POINTS

2011

1.       Participation points series will include participation in a club event as defined below. A participation points book will be available at every meeting.

2.       Payout will be for the top 10 participants.

3.       NWDRA will provide free membership for the top 5 finishers.

4.       Certificates will be given to those who participate and finish lower than 2nd place.

5.       The points series is continuous.  Points cut off to be determined by the club according to the time line needed to prepare for the award banquet.

6.       All points must be turned in within 30 days of the event.

7.       In the event of a tie the money will be split by the winners.

8.       Attendance at a minimum of 4 meetings per year is required to participate in the points series.

9.       Any member placing in the points series must have completed 4 hours of service.  New members 4 hours of service will be waived the first year if they join after the Swap Meet.  Events which go towards 4 hours worked:

·         Swap Meet

·         Winter Classic

·         Rock Around the Block

·         Payday in the Park

10.    Participation is defined as a function in which the whole club participates or has the opportunity to participate.

·         NWDRA Meetings

·         Swap Meet

·         Winter Classic

·         Payday in the Park

·         Food Drive

·         An automotive event in which service is performed to benefit or promote the NWDRA

11.    Points are awarded as follows:

·         1 point for attending a club event

·         2 points for donations to a club event (per event)

·         1 point per hour worked at a club event

·         5 points for chairing a committee or being an appointed member of a committee
